Provincial risk map regulations

Universally binding rules for the risk maps are defined in ministerial regulations. These ministerial regulations describe the vulnerable objects and high-risk situations that must be shown on the risk map.

External Security Registration Decision

The "Registratiebesluit Externe Veiligheid" (Dutch External Security Registration Decision) imposes an obligation to register risk situations involving hazardous substances. 

Environmental Management Act

Companies require an environmental permit if they wish to use or store hazardous substances. The Dutch Environmental Management Act [Wet milieubeheer] stipulates the conditions that a company must meet in order to obtain a permit.

Security Regions Act

On 1 October 2010, the Dutch Security Regions Act [Wet veiligheidsregio's] came into force. This Act brings together the fire brigade, medical assistance in the case of accidents and disasters, disaster response and crisis management, in a single organisation.
