Risicokaart.nl allows you to discover the risks in your area by entering your post code or place of residence. You can see whether there is an increased risk in your area of, for instance, an aviation accident, natural fires or floods and you receive advice about what you must do in such a case.
Cause and aim
The images of a ravaged residential area after the firework disaster in Enschede are engraved on many memories. And many still remember the New Year fire in Volendam. The then cabinet decided that risks must be better mapped out and that everyone in the Netherlands must be informed about the risks in their own vicinity. The risk map was developed for this purpose.
The risk map provides the most up-to-date and complete picture of the risks in your area. Moreover, the explanation to the map indicates how and using what methods inhabitants can prepare for disasters and emergencies. Furthermore, the risk map is intended to encourage people to consider how we can improve safety in our vicinity.
